thank you Penston...

for pointing out how silly I am.
really folks, this is nothing more than a tiny misunderstanding
between life-long friends. it happens to everyone.

last night, without saying anything to me,
my wise wife martha left a book in my reading place.
she knew I would wake up before everyone
and likely I would read for a while.
the book she left was
"Don't Sweat The Small Stuff...
and it's all small stuff" by Richard Carlson.

the title says it all.

I give the blogger the benefit of a doubt.
he shouldn't have used the term "unethical"
but was by his own admission "in despair".
I'm sorry for my overreaction to his overreaction.
by the way, there is nothing in the world
wrong between me and robert.
never was.

but thanks to all of you who expressed your support.
it is uplifting to know so many people care.
now...back to life.

As for Adrian being a great person, well, I wouldn't know.

  3. That's a fantastic outlook on it all Mr. Belew. I'm glad you're in a "better place" mind-wise now. Best of luck to you in the rest of the new year, Alex.

  5. These things do happen allright, I was in a band that broke up over a misinterpretation of an email between band members, could've put the fire out with a simple phone call in the first place! No need to apologize for your over-reaction, we love your passion, we can hear it in your guitar playing...rock on Mr B.

  6. Adrian,

Please consider using Penston's image as your next album sleeve. "Unethical Management Practices" is surely a title ripe for the picking now.

And thanks for signing your own leg for me the other week at The Vanguard.

    Now, as Barry said...

ONWARD! Good chap, the future beckons!

    Cheers,
    Owen

  7. Thank god you got your sensibilities back. I was just about to write you off as another rock star having a hissy fit. You artistes with your artistic temperaments...what are you like??? :-)

  8. please understand this once and forever:
    robert is THE DECIDER.
there will be NO new krimson music
until he decides there will be.
there will be NO krimson concerts
until he decides there should be.
there will only be releases of archival material,
    because he has decided that.

the Power Trio will be touring again
in April and as always I will be
    available for signatures and conversation.
please save your breath and mine
    and delete the questions about
krimson touring, new krimson records, etc.

if you must know more, go to the source. DGM.
    cheers,
    adrian

  11. Maybe this'll sound corny to some, but by sharing this little tidbit you have - with a big nod to Martha and the late Mr. Carlson - rejuvenated in me what I need. The title really does say it all. Thank you.

  12. Adrian-In my mind at least, I could never see what all the fuss was over. I've always understood that KC was a 'RF thing' from the beginning. It's good to see you set the record straight. I'd love to see the Trio in Toronto this year. I'd love to see the Bears as well. KC would be a lot of fun too. The bottom line being, it's about the music. Sometimes so-called fans lose perspective. It's not always what we think we need, it's about what the artist(s) want to do. I for one look forward to seeing you live again!
    Cheers
    Peter

  13. I still think it would be a great idea to write that book. At least, once E is released.

  14. Ade,

Hurrah for your wife. Don't let that stop you from writing the book, though.

  15. I echo the others who say "Please write a book!"

    I'm dying to read it!

  16. Forget the book. I want you to release your own range of chocolate snacks.

    Mmmmmm, Belewbelicious!

  17. I was reading your post, where you say:

"please understand this once and forever:
    robert is THE DECIDER.
there will be NO new krimson music
until he decides there will be.
there will be NO krimson concerts
until he decides there should be.
there will only be releases of archival material,
    because he has decided that."

    and earlier:

"really folks, this is nothing more than a tiny misunderstanding
between life-long friends. it happens to everyone."

Interesting how a tiny misunderstanding between life-long friends can lead to a decision that has a shattering effect on the life of a band! Not to mention the fans. (I used the word "decision" here because I understand that only the DECIDER could have made this decision.)

I'm still hoping (probably against all odds) that KC will go out with a bang rather than a whimper.
